I took photos of all the reading dogs and let the students pick the dog they wanted. I did not do guided drawings with them but showed one demonstration of drawing a dog from one of the photos, drawing the dog using shapes, from big to smaller shapes for details and fur "shapes". Then they worked on drawing their dog individually.
