Hot Air Balloons
The 1st graders reviewed the Art Elements of Shape, Line and Color while
creating hot air balloons. They first
drew many different types of lines through their hot air balloon then filled between
the lines with geometric shapes. They also had to remember to create patterns with their lines and shapes.
When they were done drawing they used the 3 primary colors, red,
yellow and blue to paint a few parts of their balloon. Then by mixing the 3 primary colors they
explored the secondary colors and created orange, violet
and green to paint the rest of their balloon. When done they outlined with
black and created a hot air balloon basket to carry themselves away!!
Up, up and away!!!
